About this picture
Santa is busy getting the house ready for Christmas, reaching up to hang a round ornament on a tall tree. A big five-pointed star sits on the very top, and another ornament already hangs lower down on the scalloped branches. The tree takes up half the page, so there's lots of room to add your own ideas.

Coloring ideas
- Color the tree a deep green and the star on top a bright gold or yellow.
- Give each ornament its own color, like red, blue, or purple, so the tree looks festive.
- Draw extra ornaments or a string of lights on the tree before you start coloring.
- Color the tree trunk or base brown so the tree looks like it's standing on the floor.
Learning and creativity connection
Decorating the tree with your own extra ornaments is a chance to plan a pattern, like alternating red and gold, which builds early math thinking.
